Town Planning Permit is usually required when:

Unit sites, Town Houses, Dual Occupancy Projects

Building more than one dwelling on a block, including “granny flat” types

Planning overlays such as Neighbourhood Character, Bushfire Management Overlay, Special Building Overlay etc. on the block

Building on a small block under 500m2, or under 300m2. Subject to the area

Not complying with covenants or local regulations

The best way to find out whether you need a planning permit is to contact your local council’s Town Planning Office or enquire with us.

 

Note: A planning permit does not remove the need to obtain a building permit.
